Effective date: October 16, 2026
This policy explains, in plain language, what information sociolib.com collects, why, and what choices you have. sociolib.com is an editorial website; we do not sell products or offer accounts.
Scope of this policy
This policy covers this website only. It does not cover any store, download, product or service previously offered under this domain name, including template kits sold by a former owner of the domain or an earlier library that used it. We did not operate those services and we do not hold data collected by them. If you are looking for the privacy policy that applies to a template kit you bought, see the marketplace where you bought it or contact its seller. See About for more.
Information we collect
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting servers automatically record basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request, the referring page and the date and time. We use this to keep the site secure, fix problems and understand overall traffic. Logs are kept only as long as needed for those purposes.
Cookies
We aim to use as few cookies as possible. The site may use cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work or to remember preferences such as a cookie consent choice. If we use analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent where the law requires it, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Analytics
We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that runs on our own server rather than on an advertising platform. It does not set cookies and does not store IP addresses. It records aggregate information such as the pages viewed, the referring site, browser and device type, and approximate country. We use it only to see which pages are read and how people find the site, never to identify individual visitors or for advertising.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address, name if you include it, and the contents of your message. We use this only to reply, handle corrections or suggestions, and keep a record of the conversation. We do not add you to mailing lists without your permission.
How we use information
- To operate, secure and improve the website.
- To respond to messages.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run the site, such as hosting, security, email and, if enabled, analytics providers, and only as needed for them to provide their services. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of the site and its users.
Third-party links
Our articles may link to other websites, including WordPress, page builder documentation and standards bodies. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please review their policies when you visit them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including under laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended. These may include the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Receive your information in a portable format.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
To make a request, email editors@sociolib.com. We may need to verify your request. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no website or transmission over the internet is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page.
